FAQs

Q1. Can I customize my BYOB bundle page design?

Yes:

  • You can use the in-app editor we provide to enable/disable elements, update your sections, change font size, color, etc.

  • For advanced customization, you can add the required CSS snippet in custom CSS section to your App Embed.

Q2. How can I create a BYOB bundle?

  • Go to your BundleSuite Dashboard, click Create Bundle, and select BYOB.

  • Add a Title and optional Description for your bundle.

  • Create Product Sets with names, limits (min/max), and optional restrictions like 1 quantity per product.

  • Add products or collections to each set, including variants if needed.

  • Choose a discount type: No Discount, Fixed Box Pricing, or Tiered Discount Rules.

  • Upload a banner image to personalize your bundle page.

  • Pick a template and customize it using the in-app editor (no coding needed).

  • Set product status to Active and Publish the bundle.

Q3. What are the types of BYOB bundles in BundleSuite?

BundleSuite offers three flexible BYOB (Build Your Own Bundle) styles to suit different customer experiences:

  • Multi-Set BYOB – Create sets with fixed or optional product limits (e.g., Pick 1 from Set A, 2 from Set B).

  • Multi-Step BYOB – Guide customers through a step-by-step flow to build their bundle.

  • Build-a-Box BYOB – Let customers freely mix and match items into a virtual box, up to a quantity or price limit.

Q4. How can I create a Multi Step BYOB bundle?

Multi-step bundles guide customers through product sets one step at a time — perfect for a clean, user-friendly experience, especially with large or curated collections.

  • Go to your BundleSuite Dashboard, click Create Bundle, and choose Multi-Step BYOB Bundle

  • Add a Title and optional Description, then check the ‘Enable Multi-Step Bundle Flow’ option.

  • Create your Product Sets with min/max limits, add relevant products (including variants), and apply a tiered discount if needed (note: Fixed Box discount is not supported here).

  • Upload a Banner Image, choose a Template, customize with the Layout Editor, set status to Active, and click Publish.

Q5. How can I create Build-A-Box Bundle ?

This format lets you sell curated boxes — like "Box of 3 for ₹999" — using fixed pricing that’s easy for customers to understand.

  • Go to your BundleSuite Dashboard, click Create Bundle, and choose Build A Box Bundle

  • Add a Title and optional Description, then create one product set (e.g., “Pick Your Flavors”) and add all relevant products.

  • Under Discount, select Sell as Fixed Boxes, and define your price tiers (e.g., Buy 3 for ₹999, Buy 6 for ₹1799).

  • Upload a Banner Image, choose a Template, customize layout via the in-app editor if needed, set status to Active, and hit Publish.

Q6. Can I allow customers to pick different variants in the same bundle?

Yes! Customers can pick different variants in the same BYOB Bundle. This feature is not supported by Standard and Advanced Combo Bundles

Q7. Why does my BYOB bundle product show a $0.00 price in collections or search pages?

Since each BYOB bundle is also created as a standalone product in your Shopify admin, it may appear in your collections, search results, or navigation. The $0.00 price appears because the final bundle price is calculated dynamically based on the customer’s product selections and any applied tiered discounts.

Here’s how you can handle it:

1. Set a Placeholder Price

You can manually set a placeholder price from your Shopify Products list to avoid displaying $0.00. This is just for display purposes and won’t affect the actual pricing logic of the bundle.

You’ll also find a note about this on the BYOB bundle add/edit page in the app.

2. Remove or Hide the Product

If you prefer not to show the bundle in collections or search:

  • Remove it from the relevant collections, or

  • Use Shopify’s settings to hide it from search and navigation.

This helps avoid confusion while maintaining full bundle functionality.

Q8. Can I add more than 5 sets to a BYOB bundle?

At the moment, a maximum of 5 sets per bundle is allowed.

This limit helps maintain strong store performance by reducing load time and layout shifts—two important metrics (LCP and CLS) that Shopify actively monitors. Adding more than 5 sets (especially with multiple products in each) can negatively affect your store's speed and user experience, and may trigger performance warnings from Shopify.

Supporting more than 5 sets would also require major updates to how bundles are stored and rendered, which isn’t currently feasible. If this changes in a future updates, we'll be sure to notify you.

Q9. Why isn’t my bundle visible on the storefront?

  • It might still be in Draft Mode.

  • You may not have enabled the App Embed.

  • The bundle may not be linked to any collection or product page.

Q10. Why don’t I see a discount line in cart and checkout pages for Mix & Match bundles?

Mix & Match bundles use Shopify’s Cart Transform API, which adjusts the price of the bundle product directly — instead of applying a separate discount code. That’s why you’ll only see the final discounted price in cart and checkout, and not a traditional “discount line item.”

To keep things transparent for the customers, we clearly display the original price, discount amount, and final price in the bundle sidecart before checkout.

If you’re specifically looking for a discount line to show up at checkout, we recommend using our Volume Discount Bundle feature instead. It’s built using Shopify’s Discount Node, and behaves exactly as you’d expect — showing the discount breakdown in both the cart and checkout pages.

Just note: Volume Discount Bundles are best for quantity breaks, not Mix & Match setups.
